Living The Dream - January 17, 2020

If you missed being with us last Sunday (Jan. 12th, 2020), we’re living the dream!

Literally, I think we can say.

At least that’s the title of our new Worship Series:  VISION 20/20: Living the Dream!

We had a great start to the conversation.  I know it seems to be an odd way to begin a new year, but I challenged us to write our own epitaphs Sunday.  If you’re like me, there are times when I feel like I’m just busy getting through the day, the next hour, the next minute, that I don’t always have a clear grasp of the big picture.  Sometimes it feels like I’m turning pages in a book—or swiping my kindle pages—one by one, with no clear understanding of how fast those pages are being turned.  I don’t want to wake up at the end of my life feeling like all I did was flip pages in someone else’s book.  I want to live my life with an eye on the final chapter, writing the story that God commissioned me to uniquely fulfill.  Writing our own epitaphs, taking time to reflect on what we really want others to say about us when we’re gone, helps us pinpoint what actions are significant in our lives today, and to begin to do those things with intention, passion, and focus.

The Lord has created you on purpose; do you know that?  He has designed you, inspired you, and allowed you your own individualized set of life experiences, and placed you at this location and time in history, for a reason.  He’s inviting you to live out that life he created you for, with intention!  Everyone ends up somewhere.  But few people end up somewhere on purpose.  I want to live the life the Lord uniquely designed me to live, and I would love for you to join me in discovering your own passion and purpose.

Sunday we talked about a crazy little word from the original language of the Old Testament:  Chazown.  We’re going to pronounce it ka-ZONE no matter how funkily the word is actually pronounced in Hebrew!  Chazown is this idea of living the dream, living out this vision, this purpose, this created purpose, to the best of our ability, without distraction, so that when we’ve written our own final chapter, we’ll have made the greatest impact in the world.

So grab your glasses, and join us for an incredible journey!!

Blessings on you,
Pastor Tracy
